Chief Minister Jayalalithaa campaigning in Neermullikuttai on Thursday for her party candidate P. Saroja
Tamil Nadu chief-minister and AIADMK’s general secretary J. Jayalalithaa commences her party’s election campaign today. Taking a lead in the run up to the ensuing Lok Sabha elections in the State, Jayalalithaa announced her party’s 40 candidates for the parliamentary seats in Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry on 24th February. She released her party’s election manifesto the following day.
She also announced her tour itinerary to campaign for her party’s candidates. As per the schedule, Jayalalithaa kicks off her party’s Lok Sabha election campaign from today by addressing a meeting at Kancheepuram. She is likely to leave Chennai by 02:30 p.m. by helicopter and would get down at Nazarathpet. From there, she would proceed by car to the venue of the meeting near the Kancheepuram Main Bus Terminus.
She would be addressing the meeting to campaign for Maragatham Kumaravel, the AIADMK candidate from Kancheepuram Lok Sabha constituency. After the meeting, she is likely to return to Chennai later in the evening. In order to welcome the chief-minister, the Kancheepuram Unit of AIADMK has erected banners, cut-outs and welcome hoardings at all the places from Nazarathpet to Kancheepuram.
Dr. Maithreyan, M.P., who is in-charge of the election arrangements at Kancheepuram, has been supervising the arrangements made. It may be noted that all the AIADMK candidates in the State would also be launching their respective election campaigns at the same time when Jayalalithaa kicks off the party’s campaign in Kancheepuram.
